About the Federation

“PROF” ITF Taekwondo Federation of Armenia was established by several successful ITF Taekwon-do schools of Armenia to coordinate and join their efforts in promoting Taekwondo in Armenia. The Federation is a registered member of International Taekwon-Do Federation Union and is officially listed in their site. The president of the federation is Master, 5th Dan International Instructor Arsen Gevorgyan.

Practicing Taekwondo will enhance your self-esteem by heightening your physical and mental powers. Our trainers will build your confidence by encouraging you to succeed and to take control of your life. You will develop discipline by thoroughly training your body and mind in the 5 tenets and techniques – COURTESY, INTEGRITY, PERSEVERANCE, SELF-CONTROL and INDOMITABLE SPIRIT.

KIDS & TEENS

Through the practice of Tuls (formal training patterns) the student will gain increased ability for reasoning, memorization, and concentration. This has proved in students time and time again that the participation in Taekwondo helps to improve grades, attendance, self-esteem, and confidence.

ATHLETES

As a sport activity, Taekwondo promotes proper etiquette, sportsmanship, and leadership skills, and some of the physical benefits fromTaekwondo are increased flexibility, increased muscle tone, and improved stamina, not to mention focus and self-discipline - all which can compliment and improve performance in most other sports. Want to improve flexibility but can't imagine doing ballet or yoga? Try Taekwondo!

COMPETITION

Do you like the thrill of competition? Do you want to prove you're the best? Is a gold medal in your dreams? For students who are serious about competition, we offers an elite tournament team with specialized training and practice to prepare for local and regional competitions.

WEIGHT LOSS

Taekwondo requires you to engage all of your muscle groups, so it offers a good cardio workout. It gets your heart pumping and improves circulation throughout the body. Practicing for just 30 minutes a day can give you all the exercise you need for a more active lifestyle. And as your heart rate increases, your blood circulation improves, and various muscle groups get activated. Your body is forced to burn calories. Steady and regular workouts can ultimately result in substantial, healthy weight loss.

SELF-DEFENSE

Take your personal safety into your own hands. The assumption in all Taekwondo practice is that the student is initially responding to an attack. So, essentially all Taekwondo forms begin with a defensive block rather than a strike. Then, take control with kicks and strikes that are used in defense. Learn these moves and techniques to protect yourself.

STRESS RELIEF

Similar to many other physical activities and exercises, Taekwondo helps relieve stress and can diminish the intensity of such physical ailments as muscle tension, headaches and chronic pain. Taekwondo is as much a mental exercise as a physical one.
