ITF Taekwondo Open Championship of Armenia
On 9th of June in Yerevan took place ITF Taekwondo Open Championship of Armenia organized by “PROF” ITF Taekwondo federation of Armenia. 162 male and female cadets aged from 4 to 36 have participated in tournament. The tournament was held in two age groups: up to 18 (total 7 age groups) and from 18 to 36. The honorable guests of the championship were Artsakh hero Hayk Sekhliyan, Head of Shengavit district Razmik Mkrtchyan and Director of Arabkir Sports School Eduard Yeranosyan. The championship featured about 130 medals, including athletes aged 4 to 6 years. The federation had made such a decision to motivate the children to train more enthusiastically and participate in tournaments. Under the auspices of Karen Ghazaryan, Executive Director of “TEGHUT” CJSC, prize-winning athletes were awarded diplomas, medals and gifts. In competition of Tules best performance have shown and awarded with gold medals David Kocharyan (6-11 age group, yellow-green stripe belt), Anna Avagyan (15-17 age group, black belt 1st Dan), Gor Yeroyan (12-14 age group, red-black stripe belt).
During the tournament there were also professional fights with the participation of international tournament winners.The professional fights were sponsored by businessman Edgar Avetisyan. The professional fights won Vladimir Khachatryan (under 45 kg) in the age group of 12-14 and Karen Nersesyan (under 75 kg) in the age group of 16-17.
